Services have been set for David James Drumm, 67, of Monroe, owner of Gray Heating & Air Conditioning Co., who died on January 23, 2019 at his home.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Rupp Funeral Home. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born July 27, 1951, David was the son of James Frederick and Jane Ann Drumm. He was married on June 9, 1979 in Monroe to Judy Klem. They were blessed with four children: Jennifer (Paul) of Monroe, Katie (Clay) of Plymouth, and Bryce and Robert of Waterloo, IA. David has three granddaughters: Megan, Kendra, and Audrey. He has two nieces and a nephew: Amy, Hannah, and Nathan. He is also survived by his mother, Jane, his wife, Judy, and his brother Clif (Dawn) of Albuquerque, NM. He is preceded in death by his dad, Jim, and son, Bryce.
Dave's family started Gray Heating & Air Conditioning in 1946. Dave spent much of his childhood learning the art of this trade. He truly loved working with his customers. He officially took over the family company in 2005 when his father, James Drumm, retired.
Dave had a great love for his alma mater, Western Michigan University. He graduated with an Engineering degree in 1973. He utilized the knowledge gained with his engineering degree to further his expertise in the heating and cooling industry.
Outside the office, Dave loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He was a loving father and papa who loved to teach and work on crafts and projects. He loved to go camping or work on projects in his garage and woodshop. He will be deeply missed.
