Valentin "Val" Voskresensky
January 4, 1962 ~ October 23, 2009

SEASIDE - Val was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Viacheslav Voskresensky and Natalie Voss on January 4, 1962 and passed away at home suddenly on October 23, 2009 at age 47 from pancreatitis.
Val graduated from Schurr High School in Montebello, CA with numerous awards for journalism working on the school newspaper. While living in Monterey Park he became an Eagle Scout.
When he moved to Monterey he attended Monterey Peninsula College and got an AA degree in Political Science and Psychology. He was a member of the Student Government.
He attended San Francisco State University majoring in Printmaking, Filmmaking and Public Relations. He was a fan of the Oakland Raiders. In San Francisco he worked mainly in art galleries as well as in the International Humanitarian Services.
Val came back to Monterey in 1998. He worked also in art galleries and did volunteer work where needed. He enjoyed the beauty of the Peninsula. Val was well versed in music, literature and history and he always had pets.
He leaves behind his grieving parents, his aunt, Tamara Mat and her husband, Boris and their grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at St. Seraphim Russian Orthodox Church, Canyon Del Rey and Frances Avenue in Seaside on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. followed immediately by interment at the Cemeterio El Encinal in Monterey. Contributions to the Salvation Army are welcomed.
