Bernard KMITA Obituary
August 30, 1922 – June 9, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Kmita, on June 9, 2017 at the age of 94. Survived by his beloved wife Czeslawa, Bernard will be deeply missed by daughters Lidia, Leona, and Teresa; grandchildren Patrick, Nadine, Sean, and Corinna; great-grandson Eli; sons-in-law Raymond Lazzara and Phillip Carter. He leaves behind sisters Alice and Jane, many nieces and nephews, cousins in Poland and the many friends who blessed his life here in this world. He has a long history of volunteerism in the Polish community. Visitation will be held at Cote des Neiges Funeral Center, 4525 Cote des Neiges on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 1–4 p.m., and from 6-9:30 p.m., with formal prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Michael's and Anthony's Catholic Church, 105 St. Viateur W. at 10:00 a.m., with burial at Cote des Neiges cemetery following. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernard's name to support the ministries of your choice that serve the poor and needy people around the world would be appreciated.

My deepest condolences to the Kmita Family. Mr. Kmita was so much involved in the Polish community taking care of the lottery at Polish Bazaars for so many years and being a member of the Board of Directors of the Polish Institute and also of the Foundation of the Polish Institute.

Bernard will truly be missed; he had a very unique personality duplicated by no other. He supplied us with many enjoyable and interesting memories and will be remembered always. We will find comfort in those memories and trust you too will find comfort in your memories with him. Rest assure that he will be that special angel watching over all of us.
