Randy L. Shannon, 65, of Morris, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Joliet Area Community Hospice. Born June 17, 1951 in Morris, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Mary (Cameron) Shannon.

Raised and educated in Morris, Randy worked for many years and retired from Pipefitters Local 597. After his retirement from the Local, he worked for Alcoa Aluminum, retiring from there in 2001. Randy married Lisa Wheeler December 31, 1987.

Randy "Old Man River" enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Hold 'Em and taking trips to Las Vegas where he could play his favorite card games.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; children, Calley Shannon of Milwaukee, WI, Carrie (Christopher) Brown of NH, Danielle (Eric Sproul) Dunn of Morris; Randi (Justin Duckmanton) Shannon of Marseilles, Joshua (Ashley Juergens) Shannon, Jaidyn Shannon, and Jordyn Shannon, all of Morris; nine grandchildren, Tyler (Allyssa) Shannon, Cassandra Shannon, Joslyn and Avery Gibson, Callum Brown, Cenora Cheskie, Justin, Bella, and Eugene Duckmanton; four great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Linda Shannon of Morris. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, John; and two brothers, Rick and Ken, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, located at 301 W. Washington Street in Morris. Enhanced video tributes will be played during the visitation. A Celebration of Randy's Life will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Robert Sathuri of the First United Methodist Church of Morris.

Cremation rites will be accorded.
