Tahira Khatoon Obituary

Tahira Khatoon was born in Jaipur, India on December 22, 1928 and migrated to Pakistan with her parents in 1948 after the subdivision of India. God called her back on March 21, 2015 to be with her parents, two siblings and her husband. Tahira is survived by her son, S Javaid Anwar of Midland, daughter-in law Vicky Anwar, grandson Ryan Anwar of Midland, a granddaughter Leslie Anwar of Dallas and two younger siblings, a sister and a brother of Karachi, Pakistan. She raised her only son S Javaid Anwar with the help of her parents and worked as a telephone operator that helped put her son through private schools so that he could get the best education possible. After her son came to United States at the age of 18 to study Petroleum Engineering at University of Wyoming she stayed back in Pakistan. At the insistence of her son she moved to Piano, then moved to Midland, Texas and lived with her son and daughter-in law. The family wishes to express the gratitude to all the physicians, nurses, healthcare providers and hospice of Midland for their compassionate care. The family is grateful for the endless support from all their friends and family during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given in Tahira's name to Hospice of Midland or Hope House, Midland. Tahira Khatoon will be laid to rest next to Javaid's stepfather at the Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
