Winifred Williams Obituary

Winifred "Winnie" Alberta Henne Williams

Piscataway - Winifred "Winnie" Alberta Henne Williams, 92, went into the arms of her loving Lord, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Mays Landing.

She was born on January 21, 1926, in Piscataway, to William H. and Eugenia W. Rauber Henne. She resided in the Arbor and Lake Nelson sections of Piscataway for more than 75 years before moving to Mays Landing in 2001.

Winnie attended New Brunswick High School and worked as a computer operator with Bell Communications in Piscataway for 12 years, retiring in 1992. She was an active member of the Bell Communications Pioneers, a Girl Scout leader and was proud to have served many years as a volunteer at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield.

She was an active member of the Dunellen United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1944. She served on the Board of Trustees, the Pastor Parish Relations committee, and belonged to the United Methodist Women's de Rosset circle. In Mays Landing she participated and loved her new church home, The First United Methodist Church.

Winnie especially enjoyed the fellowship and wonderful times she had at the annual Henne family reunions.

She was the wife of 41 years to the late Howard "Dutch" S. Williams who died in 1985, the mother of Dennis Williams who died as an infant in 1951, and the sister of the late William C. Henne who died in 2012.

Her family includes her son, Ted H. Williams and his wife, Lila, of Mays Landing; a daughter, Barbara L. Williams of Gloucester, VA; her two grandsons, Joshua Williams and his domestic partner Stacy Czepiel of Lusby, MD, and Jordan Williams of Mays Landing; two great grandchildren, Joshua Czepiel and Trinity Williams; a sister, Mary Traxler of South Plainfield; her uncle, Joseph C. Henne and his wife Muriel, of Piscataway; and a dear and loving friend, Judith Smalley, of Piscataway.

A service will be held at the Dunellen United Methodist Church, 150 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, on Monday, April 30, 2018, at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will be in Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway.

Friends may visit the family at The Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, on Sunday from 3 to 7 P.M.

There will also be a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church, 6011 Main Street, Mays Landing, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 3:00 P.M.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made in thanksgiving to the glory of our Lord, to the Dunellen United Methodist Church or the First United Methodist Church. For additional information or to sign the guestbook, please visit www.mundyfh.com.

Dear Family,
I will always remember Winnie as a loving person to her family and a good friend when needed. Many years ago we used to exchange gifts and she gave me a pretty glass shelf for my dresser, it is still in use and I will always treasure those years of friendship. She was blessed to have all of you and we were blessed to have had her.
