Keith Carlson Obituary

Keith Carlson

AGE: 52 • Aberdeen

Keith Carlson, 52, of Aberdeen, passed away, Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at home. He was born in Elizabeth; and moved to Matawan in 1962, where he graduated from Matawan Regional High School in 1978. He was a charter member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Aberdeen.

Keith is survived by his beloved parents, Kurt and Ingrid M. Carlson; his son, Gunnar Carlson of Orange Park, FL; a brother, Jeff Carlson and wife, Christina of Lincroft; a sister, Lisa Carlson Drymon and husband, John of Holly Springs, NC; three nephews, Anders, Harris, and John Carlson; and two nieces, Ingrid Carlson and Ella Drymon.

Keith attended Rutgers for a brief period, but left to pursue a culinary career. He was co-owner of Carlson's Corner, Manasquan; Café 35, Sea Girt; and worked in many local restaurants, most recently at KC Seafood Shack on Main Beach, Manasquan. His love of music and lasting friendships were rare in today's world. He was always willing to help out; always had a smile on his face; and always looked out for others, never asking for anything in return. Matawan and Manasquan have lost their most faithful and fervent Good Time Ambassador. Keith will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

At the direction of the family, cremation was private. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, handled the arrangements. A memorial service will take place at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, at a later date. Donations may be made to the 529 College Fund to benefit Keith's son, Gunnar Carlson. I met Keith 27 years ago and we have been in and out of each others lives since. He often sent me cards with pictures of he and Gunnar or old pictures of he and I together. He always signed them " Always and Forever , Love Keith" . I will miss that and him so much.

In the last few years Timmy and I have spent time with Keith and I am so so sorry, He will be truly missed. He had a way of understanding people and relating to many different kinds of people, and the world will be a much lonely place without him. I am so sorry and sad and hate that I have to tell Timmy of his passing. My prays go out to Keiths family. God Bless you.
