Eleanor Morehouse Obituary

Eleanor Morehouse

Somerset - Eleanor Morehouse, 80, of Somerset, passed peacefully on May 13, 2020 at her home after a two year battle with cancer. Eleanor was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Rick and Martha, Mark and Linda, and Jeffrey and Melissa, her brother Thomas Nicola, and sister Dorothy Ryan, and her loving husband Fred. She adored and was loved by her grandchildren, Daniel, Brian, Eric, Alexa, Greg, and Jake.

Eleanor's 40-year career in the world of fine art was exemplified by a sharing and joyful approach to painting in oils, participating in various art associations, and teaching her craft. Traveling extensively with Fred throughout the US and in Europe was their common passion and inspired them both in this exciting life endeavor.

Services will be held privately, under the care and direction of the Gleason Funeral Home.

There are absolutely no words to express our sadness over Ellie's passing. The entire Morehouse family were foremost our friends and second, our great neighbors for 36 years. Ellie was a very compassionate and caring person and an extremely talented artist. She inspired many of us with her encouragement and patience while teaching us to express ourselves through our art. Not always an easy task on her part, i'm sure. Her friendship was a treasure that will always be remembered with fondness & love. Ellie, you will be missed forever...love you. The entire family are in our thoughts & prayers. Hopefully, fond thoughts and wonderful memories, of her, will help you through this unbearably difficult time.

Sincerest condolences to the Morehouse Family. May your grief be softened by your fond and loving memories. George and I delighted in knowing Eleanor. We enjoyed seeing her prints and paintings in shops and shows up and down the East Coast. Several of her pieces grace our home. We are reminded of her beautiful spirit every day. God Bless You
