Jason Whitman Obituary

Jason Whitman

Ocean - Jason Whitman, 38, of Ocean, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Jason was the eldest son of Craig and Marybeth (Sheridan) Whitman whom relocated from Roselle Park to Brielle, NJ in 1990. There he grew up in a neighborhood full of friends, and graduated from Manasquan High School in 2000. He was acknowledged as a responsible, hardworking employee everywhere he worked. He was currently employed at Vergona Crane as a Safety Director/Project Coordinator. Jason was also a very talented lyricist/vocalist and band member, a power lifter, but most importantly an amazing brother, uncle, and friend.

He enjoyed listening and adding to his extensive vinyl music collection, increasing his Personal Records in the garage gym he so proudly built, football Sundays, spending time with his friends and family, and playing with his niece and nephews. Jason had a magnetic personality and a heart of gold, he was hilarious and always had everyone around him laughing.

Jason was predeceased by his parents, Marybeth & Craig Whitman Sr., his Nana & Poppop, Christine & Harold Whitman, and his Grandpop, Michael Sheridan. Jason is lovingly remembered by his very best friends and siblings, Craig (Carley) Whitman and Jessica (Roy) Addison, as well as Uncle J's cherished niece and nephews, Roy Jr, Marybeth, & Blake Addison, all of Ocean, NJ. He also leaves his maternal Grandmom; Barbara Sheridan.

There will be a private celebration of Jason's life, with a public celebration to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory can be made to either The Woman's Club of Manasquan, PO Box 125, 62 Main St., Manasquan, NJ 08736; Where Jason organized several concerts and fundraised for various causes; or to the Finding Strong Foundation at https://apemanstrong.com For condolences please visit www.buckleyfuneralhome.net

Jason and I shared a life together once. For the better part of a decade our relationship blossomed into best friends, roommates, and then partners. We did everything together and meant everything to each other... for a time. And even though that was a long time ago, it suddenly feels like it was yesterday.

I’m lucky to have been able to continue our friendship over all these years, even as our lives diverged. Although I could never convince him of how much health and happiness he deserved, I sure did try.

Jason, I hope that you’re finally at peace. You have always held a piece of my heart and there will always be a hole there now that you’re gone.

Love always,
Leigh-Ann (AKA Snacks-A-Lot Bear)
