CARROLLTON — Anna Marie Axley, 54, of Winchester died Monday, March 22, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Carrollton on July 25, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Holder Sr. and Zelma Shaw Holder of Jerseyville. She married Allen Shewmake Sr. and they later divorced. She then married Bobby Axley on Sept. 24, 2016, and he survives. Also surviving are a son, A.J. (Hillary) Shewmake Jr. of Winchester; a daughter, Alyssa (Andrew) Wear of Florida; stepsons, Tanner and Trever Axley of Greenfield; grandchildren, Kendyn, Kayson, Kaisley, Reid and Blakeleigh (on the way); and siblings, Gary (Minnie) Shaw of Hardin, John Holder of Jerseyville, Shari (David) Axley of White Hall and Marty (Lori) Holder of Wrights. She was preceded in death by her father, and siblings Marvin Holder, Tony Holder, Debbie Bushnell and Clifton "Sambo" Holder.
Anna worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Jacksonville. She loved her family and loved spending time with them. Anna loved walks, drives, gambling (especially slots), motorcycle rides and eagle watching. She will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021, at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Carrollton City Cemetery. Face masks will be required. Condolences may be left online at airsman-hires.com.
