I can't believe 10 years have passed since Mrs. Joyce has been our angel from above. A day does not go by that I do not think and pray for the strength of my childhood very best friend Caroline, her brother Deck ( the only brother I have ever had ), Aunt Sylvia and Neil Johnson. You are the strongest people I have ever met and Joyce would be so very proud. This year is so special that Caroline and Neil will be married and Joyce will be honored on this very special day ( her birthday) and always ! We must not lean on our own understanding, but trust in the Lord and His blessings!

Dear Friends and Family,

Today the sun was shining on the lake--the view that Joyce loved so much. I spent some time there and felt her presence as I often do-she loved this land so much. Aren't we blessed to have known her? Her sweet face will always be there for us with kind, loving memories.

Deck, Caroline, and Mr. Dargan,

We love you all and are praying constantly for your family and for your hearts. Your mother was truly beautiful, both inside and out. We know that nothing can explain or excuse the pain you all are enduring. We just pray that you find comfort in knowing that your precious, precious mom is still looking over you all as an angel. She is with the Lord and is looking down proud upon her family. We love you!

I grew up close to your family and remember my Mom and Dad always being friends with them. I am so sorry for your loss but your Mom is with my Dad in heaven Mr Ed Bennett and they are going to be watching over us, and one day we will be with them too. I miss my Dad all the time but he is in a better place than here and to know he is watching over me means a lot more to me than him being here with me each and every day. I send my condolences to your Dad and you and Deck. May God Bless you.

Dear Sylvia, Deck, Caroline, Deck-

When I heard about your beautiful, precious Joyce, it made me so very sad. I want you to know that my heart and prayers continue for each of you especially through the holidays. I knew Joyce as a very loving person who had a very tender and servant's heart for all. I remember all the laughs and fun times we shared together when my sister and I came to M.B. during the summers in the late 60's. I met Joyce through Snook (Barbara Hammond). I worked at the Chesapeake House when it first opened and remember Ducy, who kept the roads travelable at the Ponderosa, and also having great talks with her Dad, Joe, about the LORD. May you continue to experience God's love and forgiveness as you go through this next year together and I pray HE richly blesses each of you with wisdom and discernment.

Dearest Family,

We love each of you so much and will be near during the holidays. There isn't a day that goes by that we do not think of you and Joyce and what a special love you have for each other. I will miss having Joyce drop off her little gifts and special treats. Most of all, I miss her sweet smile that made me feel so special. That was her unique gift to all of us.

I am so sad to hear of your lovely mother. I only got to be with her once, but I could see that she is cherished by her family and missed very much. My prayers go out to you and your entire family. Lean on the Lord, and He will bring you peace.

Dear Friends,

First, I would just like to say thank you all so very much for your prayers and kind words. I feel your prayers daily. My family and I are so touched by all the love and kindness that has been shown to us and all of the wonderful things that have been written about our beautiful JOYCE. She was the best mother in the world and I have always known that. I was blessed to have her for as long as I did. God called her home, because he needed her. She was an angel on earth and now she is looking down on us all with a smile. I also know that she appreciates everything that you all have said and done. She was fasting for the church the day she died, but cooked Neil and I a big lunch. She was the most selfless and loving person that I have ever known. She was my mother, my biggest fan and my best friend. I can only hope to be half the person she was. Please remember to tell your loved ones how much you love them every single day! God bless you all and once again my family and I thank you so much!
