Not sure what to say?

Almost one year to the day, we took steps to beach the Alice May for the winter at Haughton's Bay near Bristol QC. Bonnie and Tom Pender have generously donated the steam boat to the Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre where it will become a static display of our Ottawa Valley forestry heritage.

Dr. Bill and some of his steam boat team in 2014 visiting the Alligator Steam Tug Boat on display in Algonquin Park.

Bill, as we called him, was both our family doctor and friend for many years. We shared interests in forestry, steam engines, the O'Brien Theater pipe organ and most recently the building of his"Alice May" steam tug boat that was launched in September in the Ottawa River. We are all so pleased that he got to see the boat in action that day! Please accept my deep sympathy on the death of Bill Burwell. I admired him.

I write to say how saddened I am upon learning of Bill's passing. Only in his last years did I come to know him as a great supporter of the Ottawa Valley Theatre Organ Society. His enthusiasm for the local community was readily apparent, as was his generosity. I suspect that he lived life to the fullest and will be much missed by a wide circle of acquaintances & patients as well as his family, to whom I offer my sympathy.

Cindy,

My sincere condolences to you and your family. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

My condolences to the Burwell family. Dr. Burwell was our family physician when I was growing up in Renfrew. I have some fond memories of his humor on my visits to his office. The community will certainly miss him.

We've lost a good man! Dr. Bill was our family doctor for 34 years. He was more than a physician. He was a genuinely caring and compassionate healer and I was blessed to be one of his special patients that continued to see him at his home after retirement. My condolences to Bonnie and the Burwell family. Godspeed Doctor Bill!

My deepest sympathies to the Burwell family. I have fond memories of spending time at their house and cottage.

Knew Bill for many years and called on him as a pharma rep for Ayerst...a fine man and a very good physician....RIP Dr. Bill
