Not sure what to say?

I saw Bill many times at the long term care facility where he endured his waning years. (I was there to visit another NFB alum.) Inevitably, Bill railed against the decline of civilization in general, and his shrinking world in particular. He was caustic and witty; he smiled maliciously. He was not about to slip quietly into his good night. He was still very much Bill.

Condolences to the family. I remember Bill from the National Film Board days, and saw him most recently several years ago at Kensiongton palace.

Bill was a great friend to my father Sean Moore and mother Cynthia (Balch) Moore, as well as my uncle Brian Moore and aunt Jean Moore. He was a wonderful, kind man with a terrific wit, and he will be missed. I have only happy memories of every moment I spent with him. On behalf of the Moore family and my wife Edith Skewes-Cox, I send deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Thank you, Bill, for everything - print or film - that helped make Montreal such a great city. Your ideas and words live on!
