Not sure what to say?

We never lived by any of our relatives growing up, so it was a huge deal to see any of our extended family and an even huger deal when Uncle Duck and his family moved to La Habra, which was only an hour away from us and practically at Disneyland! We would visit Uncle Duck at his store and then we could swim in the pool or play foosball. He never raised his voice to us even when we were being squirrely kids.

As Amy said, when Uncle Duck and Aunt Pat moved to Vista, we would babysit...

I never knew him as Uncle Don, he was always my Uncle Duck. Not sure where the name came from but it was the one that he got stuck with by my branch of the Ellison family. Whenever I smell WD-40 it always reminds me of Uncle Duck and Aunt Pat's house because of their foosball table. I remember Uncle Duck helping me find some shoes at his store sometime in the early to mid 70s. At his house in La Habra I remember the really cool fireplace that had a key to turn on the gas. I had never seen...

I am the wife of David Ellison, daughter-in-law to Pat and Don. But I have never felt like anything but a part of the family, having been acknowledged generously on my birthday and at Christmas as his children were and being treated with love and acceptance. Our boys looked up to him and his presence will be missed.

It won't be the same without Don sitting on the deck watching TV or
reading at Pine Hollow. Rest assured that Pat will be well watched over.

Don will be missed by all here at the Venture Inn. What I'll miss is what I like to call my Trivia Santa Clause. Every year Don would bring me a Triva calendar. Don loved his trivia. Good-by Don.

I will miss stopping by to chat with Don on my rambles through Pine Hollow. He was always such a gentleman. My deepest sympathy to Pat, Terry and the rest of the family.

Frank and I wish to extend our thoughts and prayers to Pat and all the family. We met in Phoenix where Don and Frank managed JCPenney stores and became good golfing friends. Don and Pat have remained very special friends even though we have lived so far apart.
Our love to all the family. Aloha

I remember hearing "how's your Dad" and then looking at Don & asking if he was talking to me! Of course his response was "heck" yes. I got to hear all the stories in short order of the ball field back in the day. We always enjoyed seeing both Don and Pat at the lake. Our thoughts are with the family through this walk. With love Bob and LeeAnne

Don was a gentle giant to us. He was kind and caring. I will never forget Chris coming home with cases of CD’s and CD cases for Don’s special musical gifts to anyone or everyone. He and I enjoyed the oldies but goodies and he gave me dozens of CD’s for that reason. Don you are missed.
