George and I met when we were in the same U.S. Naval Pre-Flight class in Pensacola, Fla. in 1957. When we reached more advanced flight training and were sent to Whiting Naval Air Station in Milton, Fla., we were roommates–and remained friends ever since. George has been one of my closest friends.
