I will miss Jerry at the gym, he and his wife came to my home last year with others from the gym. He will be sorely miss. My heart goes out to Elisabeth I understand what she is going through.

Jerry Kohel has passed away, and I feel like a giant hole has opened up in my life. I knew Jerry for 30 years, and he was simply one of the finest people I have known. His life was exemplified by service and by giving. He gave so much to me and did so much for me, just as he gave so much of himself to other people and to the organizations which he loved. And he did it all with quiet modesty and graciousness that is so rare in today's world.

I first met Jerry Kohel when I worked on Jerry Vander Roest's campaign for State Representative in 2004. Jerry Kohel was a dedicated supporter and loyal friend to Jerry Vander Roest. He would drive Jerry Vander Roest regularly in his new hybrid car door to door around the 63rd House District. I remember at the time that it was the first hybrid car that I had ever been in.
