Not sure what to say?

The best high school basketball coach of all time.

Lyle's love for the Lord was an example for all of us. His two sons, Gordon and Dwight, fellow high school teachers, carried on Lyle's integrity and contagious enthusiasm, but most of all, faith in God. Just this week, I spoke Gordon Patterson's signature words to my community college class here in Iowa, "I love you, in a positive way!"

Lyle Patterson was faithful...faithful to the Comets, the Congregational Church, his wife Elaine and most of all to the Lord. He set a great example for everyone and will be missed.

Coach was a pleasure to watch at basketball games. He was to say the least quite animated!!! Who can remember the famous "Mickey Mouse" play? I had Elaine as my first grade teacher and have always admired the example they set for us all. Coach loved the Lord and his family. He has left a fine legacy. I know coach and Gordon are sitting at the throne of God rejoicing with one another. Prayers for Elaine and family. I know one day I will see coach in Gods gym. You will be missed.

We will be praying for your family. Robert & Karolyn Anderson
