Not sure what to say?

My husband and I think of Dr. Hausknecht often. He was an excellent cardiologist and a remarkable human. We loved his sense of humor. Missed but not forgotten.

I was a travel nurse for pro health staffing and I was going to accept an assignment to work with him at DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center but they were only paying $40 an hour for travel, specialty nurses.. rest eazy..

Forever in my heart, the heart you cared for, for many years. Most caring doctor EVER!!

The world lost an amazing cardiologist when Dr. Hauscknecht was taken from this earth. Prayers for you always.

I was a nurse in FICU in the 80's and worked with Mark. He was great to work with. We always could count on him. In '90 I developed an bacterial endocarditis, except no one could figure out what was wrong with me. High fevers. Finally Mark diagnosed the bacterial endocarditis as well as a vegatated mitral valve. I was scheduled for valve replacement the following morning but on his night rounds saw splinter hemorrhages and called for emergency surgery that night. This was all in a days...

Dr. Hausknecht's memory is eternal. My husband and I think of him I often and compare other doctors to how well Dr. H would have proceeded. When we learned of Dr. H's demise, we were on the Cape next to his childhood home, as we learned upon reading his obit. Ironic and sad. We still think of and miss him. He wasn't family and only an annual visit, but he left a serious impression on us and set a medical standard not reached by many other doctors.

I still have a photo of Mark and the boys at my desk. I get to say Good Morning to him every day.

Remembering you especially on this day Dr. Hausknecht.
