Mary Gaynale (Cheek) Kapica was born Sep 8, 1961 in Gary, IN and passed away from surgical complications on July 24, 2018. She was the wife of KZNN-FM (Rolla, MO) radio personality Rik Anthony of nearly 40 years.

She grew up in Hobart, IN and attended Hobart High School. She graduated with the class of 1979.

She is survived by her parents Jim and Sue Cheek (Nee Hembree), her husband Donald (Rik Anthony) Kapica, the couple s two children Shauna Sublette of Overland, MO and Brad Kapica of Colorado Springs, CO and by her sister Roberta Tuft of Valparaiso, IN.

She had several nephews and nieces; Kelly Silich of Hobart, Julie Kapica of Chicago, Craig Kapica of Hobart and Nathan Tuft of Valparaiso,

Gaynale was a good Christian woman and a member of Green Tree Christian Church in Rolla, MO and worked at St. James Winery in St. James, MO. She loved and was loved by many people.

Gaynale was multi-talented from running restaurants to record labels. She loved going to the movies with her husband. She loved writing and music and that opened many world-wide relationships with friends. She was an Air Force wife of 20 years and followed her husband to Fayetteville, North Carolina, Dayton, Ohio, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Guam, San Francisco, CA and St. Louis, MO.

Our Lord and Savior saw that she was tired of fighting the illnesses that had plagued her body for 21 years and called her home. Her poor, broken body is finally at peace. She now walks the streets of heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and can say I have seen the face of God.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the celebration of life, officiated by Pastor Tim Cook, on Sunday, August 12 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Celebration of Life for Gaynale Kapica, 1507 EAST GLENDALE BOULEVARD, Valparaiso, Indiana, 46383.
