Not sure what to say?

Sincere condolences to Rod's family and friends. His contribution to generations of Canadian children like myself should be a source of inspiration and comfort during this very sad time. Thank you Rod for daring all of us to live our lives outside of the box.

I loved everything about the Friendly Giant show, except when the drawbridge closed at the end of each program!! How much I waited for the cow to go over the moon! Jerome was my favorite - I would wait excitedly for his head to pop around the corner! And rusty to root around in his bag and pop out! My love of the harp came from this show. Rod lived a good long life and it was very full - I am thankful for everything he added into it.

My condolences to Cam and the rest of your family. Very sorry to hear this.

Dear Coneybeare Family,
Jerome the Giraffe will always be my favourite giraffe ever, a little sassy but kind and gentle too. He was a great entertainer. Thank you, Rod Coneybeare, for bringing him to life. And now to curl up in a chair...
Denise

Thank you. I loved being invited to curl up in the rocking chair! I passed along the love of the Friendly Giant to my four children who also grew up loving you, Rusty and Jerome. Living on in many many hearts.

Moira, Wilson ( who I have met) and all the family- my condolences on Rod's passing. I met Bob and Rod when I apprenticed as a puppeteer with my folks on Friendly Giant in 1958. I will never forget Rod's droll sense of humour, wit and deepy deepy voice. We had so much fun for those decades on the show. I remember visiting Bob and Rod in their shared small dressing room while they worked out some ideas for the shows that day - everything improvised based on a few notes, rather than a script....

Thank-You!

You guys were the essence of my childhood!

To my niece and nephews so sorry to hear about your father. I remember your uncle Ron telling me how Rusty and Jerome would be left at Nana and Papa when your mother and he went on vacation. Your uncle Ron would put them out his bedroom window on Eagle Dr. and give shows for the all the little kids on the street. He loved doing that. Thinking of you. Auntie Marj
