Not sure what to say?

As we come upon Ruth's birthday we can't allow your memory to be forgotten. You gave so much to this community helping people in need. You were a pineer before your time and the Greater KC Housing Information Center is still standing because the promise I made to you and this community. We continue your mission to help families maintain or obtain housing on an equal opportunity basis. I cherish your memories and love always Patricia Gilmore Wilkins, Program Director.

It´s been 6 years since my leader and friend, left. This lady inspired me to continue her legacy and remember all that she taught and struggle to keep it alive. From the tribe of agency. The Greater KC Housing Information Center. One of the oldest Hud Certified agency because you. I give honor to you and the 7 women who saw a need and did it. Love you P. Wilkins

I love you, Ruth. And our birthdays are the same.

I will miss you.

Miss you, Mom ...

If it were not for Ruth Shechter, Rose Brooks Center would not exist. We talked at length at the International Women's Year convention in Houston about the task force and our need for a house. We had NO money, not 1 penny, but she took it very seriously. A few months later, she called and told me she found a house, the Brooks family would sell it to us for $3,000. We had just been approved for our first grant, a CETA grant from KCMO. But is was an employment program and only had money...

How lucky I am to have called Ruth my friend. I can't express what she means to me except to say she was full of grace, love and a beautiful woman.
"though she be small she is mighty"
I will always love you, Sue

Farewell Dear Aunt Ruth !

You had a heart so big that it extended from family to community , and even to a nephew's wife thousands of miles over the ocean .
When high winds blew over the rugged coastline of Brittany , you were my lighthouse in the tempest ; you are now my shining star .
Get a well deserved rest !

Mrs. Shechter, it is evident you were a remarkable woman and from reading your Obituary I am so sorry I did not know you. However, I knew you through your incredible daughter Judi. Please Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

To your family remember:

If your eyes don't have tears,
Your heart can have rainbows!
