Not sure what to say?

Sorry to hear of Harlen's passing and didn't have the priviledge of meeting him. But I do know that the people in the Calef store were very good at exchanging info about the family who had started the store. When I was in New Hampshire in March of 2003 I got to visit the Calef store. I am a descendant of the Chesley family and was glad to be able to visit the area. My sincere condolences to his family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Calef family and all the friends who have special memories of Harlan. Harlan always took such genuine interest in others, and typically with a smile. We will always remember with great fondness his devotion to BYA and his teams, as well as their families.

So sad to learn of the passing of Harlan today. I'll always remember the many good times I had in the old store with my father and grandfather, True and Charles Chesley, and how Harlan would always stoop to listen to a small child.
My thanks to all the help he gave me on the family genealogy.

To the Calef family,
Our sincerest sympathy to you all. We have lived in Barrington since the spring of 1978 and raised our family here. It was always a pleasure to see Harlan at the store and then later as our son, Michael began playing ball with BYA, Harlan was always there. He was always an encouragement to the ballplayers. Harlan's kindness and jovial manner will always be remembered. He will be missed by many.
With our sincerest sympathy,
The Ferullo Family
