Not sure what to say?

I feel honored to express my thoughts about Jerry. I worked with Jerry while he was at Baker Packers and Baker Sand Control. Jerry was a very fine businessman, and, even more so, a person. As a leader, he sought the advise of others, but made his own decisions, and then stuck to them. He was fair but firm. Everyone liked and respected Jerry. He was a born leader. His business expertise served him, and others, well. An agreement with Jerry could be done with a hand shake; no paper needed. ...

I have had the pleasure of knowing Jerry and his family for many years. Jerry and Gloria and my folks came to know each other through their oldest son Bob, who I met during high school and were both members of the Cy-Fair marching band. Carolyn and I through the years have fond memories of Jerry and feel fortunate to have known two truly wonderful people and their family.

I have such fond memories of working with and for Mr. Avant in the 1980's at the Baker Hughes facility on Navigation Blvd. He always had a smile on his face and something nice to say.

Jerry was a good neighbor. He was a character and we always enjoyed his quick wit. Jerry and Gloria were such a nice couple and I admired the love and respect they had for each other.

I feel honored to have know both Jerry and Gloria. They both had a deep love for God, their family and each other. I am thankful to have been part of a wonderful team caring for them in their home. I will miss him! So happy they are back together forever!

I met Jerry Avant in 1985 at Baker Sand Control. Jerry was a great role model for so many upcoming leaders and was always kind and generous. He introduced my husband Michael and I to Kinsmen Lutheran Church, where we attended for 19 years and always looked forward to giving him and Gloria a hug on Sundays. I also served with Jerry on the board of Northwest Assistance Ministries. I am grateful for this opportunity he gave me that shaped and influenced my future in serving our church and...

Jerry and Gloria were two of the most thoughtful people one could ever know, role models in how they loved life, their family and friends. I worked for Jerry for many years, he greeted everyone in a friendly way. They treated friends like family, and exchanged family stories. With their love of God, Jerry and Gloria were a blessing. We will forever hold them dear in our hearts.

Gloria and Jerry were 2 of the sweetest people I've ever known. I worked for them for about 15 years and we shared many memories of children and family. They always treated me like family and I loved them dearly.

2017, at my daughter´s HS graduation party. Thankful they are together again.
