A J Ferguson

AJ Ferguson was born in Pike County, GA on February 27, 1935. He passed away at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital, 830 Kempsville Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502 on December 21, 2017 at the age of 82. AJ was a resident of Griffin, GA until he enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Korean War and upon leaving the Army moved to Portsmouth, VA where he resided until his passing. AJ was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Corine Philips; and his wife of 51 years, Josie Ferguson; son, Anthony Ferguson, and grandson Torrey Jones. AJ is survived by his wife; Barnetta Cuffee-Ferguson, five children; Sonia Clark, Craig Ferguson (Cheryl), Phyllis Ferguson, Melissa Jones and Anita Harris (Linwood); grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A visitation and gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Keith Matthews Funeral Home, 5665 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA.
