SAREPTA, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Aaron Doyle Adkins, age 71, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the New Sarepta Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Wright and Rev. Mike Richardson officiating. There will be a private interment at the Emma Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mr. Adkins was born on March 28, 1942 to Rayford and Mavis Giles Adkins in Springhill, LA and died Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Bossier City, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area, was a 1960 graduate of Sarepta High School where he and his wife, Peggy were Mr. and Miss Sarepta High and was a retired employee of the International Paper Container Division with 47 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, Rayford Adkins and his parents, Mavis Giles Tilley and Ben Tilley; and a son, Scott Devin Adkins in 1993.

Mr. Adkins is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Peggy Carraway Adkins; sons, Tracy Adkins of Nashville, TN; Clay Adkins of Sarepta, LA; sister, Betty Jo Odom of Sarepta, LA; six grandchildren, Logan Doyle Adkins, Tarah Adkins Webber and husband, Dave, Sarah Beth Adkins, Mackenzie Lynn Adkins, Brianna Rhea Adkins, Trinity Lee Adkins; three great-grandchildren, Hadley, Henry and Jackson Webber; one nephew, Keith Odom.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Adkins, Clay Adkins, Logan Adkins, Keith Odom, Pete Schuler, Steve Crowe, Joe Blackwell and Myron Herrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Grappe and Charles Cole.

Memorials may be made to the Town of Sarepta, LA, Beautification Fund.
