AARON MALOFF

i was to the 7th grade "rapid advance" class in jhs 44 in the Bronx in 1947. aaron maloff, recently returned from the war, was, along with another teacher, leonard littwin, a lifelong inspiration. i've never forgotten his enthusiasm, affection and encouragement. he appeared to revel in teaching and found a ready audience, one of which would be grateful throughout her life. to all of you, my condolences. he was truly special.

Other than my father and my husband, Archie was the most important and most influential man in my life. To say he was brilliant would be an understatement. He knew more about education, how to run a school and how to set standards than anyone on the face of the earth. He motivated, he inspired, he challenged, he taught, he coached, he mentored and he made everyone who worked for him stretch to achieve things that they would never have achieved otherwise.
