Throughout the years a trip to see Uncle Aaron and family was a real treat. But as an adult the memories are even more intense and joyful. The best time of our lives was when Aaron, Majorie, Deb and Ryan came to visit us on the 4th of July a few years ago. The stories of those few days will last forever. We are very pleased that we saw him again this past October. The world will not be the same without knowing just a short trip to Austin brings such rewards. Our thoughts are with you Marjorie, I know I am only one of a large number who think of you as a second mother.

So much love to you all,
Anne and Alan, Alice & Stephen

I am truly saddened by the passing of Uncle Aaron, but I have some very fond memories that I will cherish the rest of my life. Uncle Aaron always seemed bigger than life to me. The obituary really summed it up pretty well. He accomplished a lot in his life, and it was all punctuated by the love of family and friends. To my beautiful Aunt Marjorie and cousins Aaron Dale, Debbie, Sandi, Rob, and Bruce, I trust that the good memories will help carry you through this difficult time.

Although it has been a while, I have such great memories of Uncle Aaron at Overstreet family reunions while I was growing up and then again in Florida when I was on visits to my grandparent’s house. He was such a joy to be around and always took time out for all of the kids whether it was teaching us to fish or making us black cows. He will be missed.

I will always love my Papa. I have so many wonderful memories of him. Even just sitting on the porch in Austin talking and playing fetch with the dog. Reading all of the wonderful things people have written makes me realize just how many people he has touched in his life. I will always be thankful for the loving and caring presence he has been in my life. I love you Papa.

My first memory of Uncle Aaron was over 27 years ago when I first became part of the family – after marrying his nephew. I remember seeing him as the very tall, friendly uncle that loved golf. He always smiled and made you feel like he was glad to see you. Throughout the years, we saw Aaron and Marjorie at the Ford Family Reunions – where everyone would grab a beer and horseshoes – and let the party begin. These reunions made me feel blessed to be a part of this wonderful family. When we went to visit him and Aunt Marjorie in Austin a couple of years ago, we couldn’t have felt more welcome, by the entire family. We got to see his beautiful woodworking projects and sit with him while he told stories on the deck. These are memories we will always treasure. My kids love to hear stories about all of their great uncles – who were World War II heroes - and especially the stories about how Uncle Aaron earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a true American hero!! Gordon and I wish we could be there with you, Aunt Marjorie, to personally give you all a big hug and tell you how much we love you – and the entire family. Our hearts are saddened by the loss of this wonderful man we are proud to call “uncle” – but we will always be grateful for the memories that he has left us. If there’s a golf course in heaven, I’m sure he’s already in his golf cart trying for Hole in One #6!! God bless you and we love you!!
