Aaron Jackson Strickland Aaron Jackson Strickland, 34, of Stanardsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. He was born on February 19, 1979, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Raymond J. Strickland and Margie Ray Strickland of Waynesboro. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Mayo Ray; and his paternal grandfather, Jackson Strickland. Aaron was a 1997 graduate of Albemarle High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Business Administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the owner of Blue Mountain TV. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his life partner, Nadia Finks and her children, Roger, William and Alyssa, all of Stanardsville; his sister, Carla Rothmann and her husband, John, of Charlottesville; a niece, Natasha Rothmann of Charlottesville; his paternal grandmother, Docia Strickland of Royston, Georgia; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A service to celebrate Aaron's life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at First Baptist Church Park Street with Pastor Lindsay Sadler and Pastor Joel Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Hill and Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. I work for the same company that Aaron worked for. I am just 3 months younger than Aaron and in much the same situation. This tragedy weighs so heavy on my heart. My thoughts and prayers will be with you always. Please remember to always look forward and keep moving. If you stop to look back the road will only get tougher. God is with Aaron now and may they both lead you forward
