Superintendent, Aaron Williams, Sr.

MANSFIELD: Superintendent Aaron WILLIAMS SR., 83, passed this life on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at his home after an extended illness.

Superintendent Williams was born Friday, February 2, 1934 to late John Henry and Eva (Johnson) Williams Sr. in Andalusia, Alabama. Reverend Williams was the Pastor at the Maddox Memorial Church Of God In Christ for the past 37 years and the esteemed Founder/Pastor of the BibleWay Church Of God In Christ in Orange, New Jersey for 33 years retiring from there in 2004. At the BibleWay COGIC he was the Chairperson of Public Relations and a Representative of the State Sunday School Department all in the First Jurisdiction of New Jersey. He pastored BibleWay COGIC and Maddox Memorial COGIC simultaneously for 26 years. Pastor Williams was the District Superintendent for the Mansfield District for over 30 years, Administrative Assistant/Director in the Ohio North First Jurisdiction, and a member of the Mansfield Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. Pastor Williams always loved being with his family, with family reunions being a focal point in his life.

Aaron leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 63 years, Betty (Duncan); 2 children: Janet Watch, and Pastor Aaron (Latonda) Williams Jr. all of Mansfield; 5 grandchildren; a great grandson; 2 sisters Fannie Jones, Mansfield and Annest (Robert) Evans, Kissimmee, Florida; 2 brothers Ben Williams, Sr. Mansfield and Cleveland Williams, Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his church family who dearly loved him.

In addition to his parents, Pastor Williams was preceded in death by 15 siblings including Queen Davison and Mardra Allen.

Saturday, the Celebration of Life Service for Pastor Williams will begin at 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon in his church, Maddox Memorial COGIC, with his son Pastor Aaron Williams Jr. delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral services beginning at 9:00 AM till time of the celebration service.

Sunday, the funeral service will be conducted by Ohio North First Jurisdiction will begin at 5:00 PM in Maddox Memorial COGIC with State Bishop Edward T. Cook delivering the eulogy. Pastor Williams will Lie In State at the church beginning at 4:00 PM till time of service.

Monday, the interment will be held at 10:00 AM at Mansfield Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will also receive friends at their home Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8 PM.

Rest in peace Pastor Williams who was a dear friend of mine in New Jersey we pray for your healing but God has other plans and so we bow in humble submission to the will of the Lord we send our condolences from the Church of God in Christ Temple Jersey City New Jersey with the pastor is the superintendent Administrative Assistant Eddie Williams jr.
