Abe was a wonderful man. I remember riding with him in his Porsche in the San Joaquin valley, in the newly opened freeway, going at least 125 miles per hour, the engine purring. This guy loved and lived life to the fullest.

So glad I got to meet Abe, through my work with the Friends of the Library. Even more glad I went to hear him recite from his book, "We Are All in This Together" at Time Tested Books in November. His life was rich with vibrant memories, and he could pass those experiences and feelings onto you, as you heard him speak. Very powerful. My condolences to the family.
