The Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, Inc., announces with the deepest sympathy the transition of brother Abidene "ND" Ludgood.
Abidene “ND” Ludgood was born July 24th, 1942, in Carlton, Alabama to the late McKinley and Dannie Ludgood.
Abidene attended Harper High School in Jackson Alabama. He graduated in 1962 and moved to Los Angeles in 1963.
In 1964 he met Bettie McGhee and in 1965 they were married. From this union two sons were born Michael Anthony and Kenneth Edward. They lived in Los Angeles from 1963 until 2007. In October 2007 “ND” and Bettie moved to Satsuma, AL where he lived until his passing.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Pacific Smelten in Torrance, CA for 20 years and Quemetco Inc. in City of Industry, CA for another 20 years. In his spare time he loved to BBQ for his family, working on anyone’s car, and fishing.
He was a faithful member of Walker Temple AME Church where he served on the Trustee Board and was a member of the Willing Workers charity club. In 2008 he joined Bethel AME Church in Mobile, AL where he was a member of the Greeters club. He was always willing to do work around the church without being asked.
Abidene departed this life on February 2, 2021, he leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years, Bettie, two sons Michael (Brenda) Corona, CA; Kenneth (Tasha) Lakewood, CA; grandson Derrion of Moreno Valley, CA. Four sisters Dolores Dean; Janet (Eddie) James, Jackson, AL; Clara Louise Todd of Eight Mile, AL; Dannie (Arthur) Spencer, Mobile, AL; McKinley, Lorraine and Laurie preceded him in death. In-Laws James Mcghee, Nancy Biel and John McGhee of Los Angeles and Joyce Jones of Kansas. His devoted cousin and mischievous running mate Charlie (Johnny) Collins (Leona) of Tuscaloosa, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
