Not sure what to say?

At BJHI< we were prepared tp honor Abe Becker with induction into our Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, this outstanding athlete and proud Jew passed away two weeks before our ceremony. We will honor him posthumously on Nov. 14 at the Brooklyn Historical Society, 5:30 PM.

Played against Abe in both HS and college...one tough competitor....and a real good guy and gentleman. RIP old buddy....just remember that the GOOD LORD does not condone elbowing for position. Those that knew and competed with you will miss a real good one as will the many that cheered you in MSG HAL

So sorry to hear. A titan of Brooklyn sports and wonderful man as well. RIP, Abe.

MUNCIE AND SY REITKNECHT will always remember a call every morning for years from Abe. He was a loyal and good friend to Sy and we will miss him very much.

Abe Becker will be honored on Monday, October 15 at the Brooklyn Historical Society, where he will be inducted into the Brooklyn Jewish Historical Initiative Hall of Fame. Guest and prominent author Charlie Rosen will celebrate the contributions of Abe Becker to "The Chosen Game...", Rosen's reference to basketball at a time when Jewish athletes like the late, great Abe Becker dominated: building pride and restoring dignity to our community.

I'd like to express my sincere condolences to family and friends during this difficult time. May the God of comfort and peace continue to be with you. Jeremiah 29:11. May the precious memories shared throughout the years bring you a measure of comfort.

To his loving family, may our god of love bring comfort and peace to you. Mathews 5:4
