Not sure what to say?

''Hello Irving!'' I will never forget the intro to Asalto Navideno Vol I when Polito Vega having announced all the stars on the recording name-checks the engineer (1'32'') its a great moment of love and admiration. One of my favorite Fania Records memories. We love you Irving!!! Fania fan base

I listen your work almost every day. Thanks for helping grow up in late sixties and seventies. Always saw your name in the album credits and occasionally your pix. Rest In Peace...

I know Irv passed away a long time ago but wanted to add my 2 cents on what a master engineer and great person Irv was. I got to know him a bit during quite a few different sessions I attended over the years and he engineered some of the songs I was associated with. Later got to know him and Hilda better about the time of his book and remember visiting him at his building on the upper Westside where his neighbor and friend was Oscar Hijuelos. He later sent me a dedicated to me copy of his...

wow,I just found this..I met Irv at Bell sound studios..worked with him at La-tierra...I'm stunned...A great human being and mentor.few people understand when I say one of the greatest things he taught me was to put tape "wings" on the pencil so it wouldnt roll off the console..well,It's that attention to detail...even the smallest thing mattered, just as much as all else..I am proud to say I know him and am honored to have been able to call him friend.God speed rest now.

My condolences to the family of one of the best recording engineers in my book.He actually pushed me to pursue in the recording Industry,Thanks Irv for all your knowledge and wisdom.Rest in Peace

I started to work with Irv in 1976 when I went to NY to work with Louie Ramirez in lots of productions for Fania Records.
His knowledge humor, his smile. He was a Master in all aspects.
Irv Greenbaum, a Salsa Masterpiece and above all, a great human being.
Blessings to your family.

Irv is definitely part of Latin Music History......A BIG PART!!

He'll be missed greatly.

Irv Engineered my 2nd LP "Essence of life" and made sure he brought me to earth. We stayed in contact thru the years and always talked about music. Blessings Irv and blessings to your loved ones.

Roger Dawson is so right to the point in his words about Irv. He truly means to Latin Music and Salsa what Rudy Van Gelder means to jazz. He's responsible for many of the all-time greatest Salsa recordings of all times: from Willie Colón's "Asalto Navideño I" and "Top Secrets" thru Cortijo/Maelo's 1974 reunion album "Juntos Otra Vez" on Coco, Cortijo's own masteripece "Time Machine," Cheo Feliciano's "Sentimiento Tu," Ray Barretto's classics "Rican Struction" and "The Message," and Charlie...
