Abraham I. Young

Mr. Abraham I. Young, 60, a resident of Brookside Apartments Bennington, Vermont died Sunday January 20, 2008 at his residence.

He was born in Sedgwick, Maine January 14, 1948. He was the son of the late Guy and Flora (Lewis) Young. He received his education in Maine.

Mr. Young had been employed at Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury, Vermont from 1980 until Stanley Tools closed its doors in Shaftsbury.

Abraham enjoyed painting and taking rides in the car. His family and grandchildren were his main interest.

Survivors include his daughter Theresa Lynn Maddox and her husband Todd of Bennington. His adopted son Michael Lee Carpenter of Kentucky. His beloved grandchildren, Cassidy Eckley, Tyler Maddox and Kayleah Maddox all of Bennington. A brother Samuel David Young and his wife Linda of Cape May, New Jersey. He was pre-deceased by a sister Mary Elizabeth Davis.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday January 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jerrod Hugenot, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.

The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery
