Ada Lucille Lovingfoss

I took piano from Ada many years ago (in the 70´s) and ended up with a degree in piano, and taught for many years, now retired. My favorite memory is how she would challenge me by saying that a piece was probably too hard for me, which made me want to prove I could do it. I wish I would´ve tried to look her up before now! I recently found an old recital program and a letter she wrote to me to encourage me in 1981 (my HS years). She definitely left her mark! My condolences to her family!

I am sorry for your loss. Mrs. Lovingfoss was an amazing woman. She was so patient and encouraging. The thing I remember the most though is her smile and her laugh. So thankful for the wonderful woman she was.

Mrs. Lovingfoss was my rock as a child. I began performing at 6 and started lessons with her a year later. She was a guiding hand in my young career and I later followed in her footsteps as a piano teacher. She was so calm and encouraging. She rarely played for me because she knew I´d cheat, but she gave me a lot of opportunities to improv live and never scolded me for it. I often walked or rode my bike to lessons so I´d throw my bike on her lawn and run in like a crazy kid.... she laughed...

Our condolences to all of you. Your mother was a special person who greatly impacted the lives of all her students; teaching them discipline, hard work, perseverance, and not to accept anything less than their personal best! We enjoyed seeing snapshots from the past at her memorial service! We will all miss her.
