Von Gontard Family & Friends, My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. God blessed Adie with a long and beautiful Life. I was fortunate to meet Adie on several occasions when we were in the planning stages of the Amogerone Volunteer Fire Company's 100th anniversary in 1976 and also in 2001 when we were planning our 125th anniversary celebration. As the oldest Volunteer Fire Company in Greenwich, Adie reached out to us on both occasions and said he wanted to help contribute to our milestone celebrations. He graciously donated all of the many Kegs of Budweiser Beer along with hundreds of custom glass beer mugs recognizing our many years of service to the Greenwich community. In addition to Adie's generosity, I remember his keen sense of humor and great appreciation of animals and love of life in general. A gentleman in every sense, he was very knowledgeable of so many topics and his charm was so sincere. May God continue to bless the Von Gontard Family. Rest in peace Adie until we meet again. Round Hill Rd lost its true last of the greats of the Greenwich back country. Adie always greeted and treated everyone equally with warmth and a bear hug. His smile and positive attitude was a gift to many who knew him. RIP Adie with your dear Mamie

Dear Adie III, Eugenie, Vicky and family,
I am saddened by the news of your father's passing. He was truly a remarkable man who inspired all he came in contact with. It was a pleasure to know him for over 30 years and experience his love of people, animals and our Country. We are all better for knowing a wonderful guy like Adie. May he Rest In Peace with his beloved Mamie.
