Not sure what to say?

Marcella, I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Please know that my thoughts and condolences are with you and your family.

I was in Cincinnati and later in Miami when I read of the passing of Dr. Pinelo. I think I was one of his first students having started at the old campus in Covington.
Al was a great inspiration to me and many others. That first group of faculty members where all such a great group. Many of us attended the ground breaking years later in Highland Heights, very exciting times. Kathy & Family,
My prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow.

I was very upset to hear about the death of my major professor, Dr. Pinelo. He was my mentor at NKU, and I was one of the few students in the first year (experimental year) of the new International Studies dept., in the very early 80's. Dr. Pinelo was instrumental in helping to shape my career choice in international disciplines. A sincere and inspiring gentleman who worked tirelessly to help others grow and improve. Those contributions can never be fully measured but his influence continually improved our community and University . The principles and examples shared by Dr. Pinelo have, and will continue to be passed on to others through the lives and efforts of his students. Thank you Dr. Pinelo, well done good and faithful servant.

Dr. Pinelo had his students over for a Cuban meal while I and never have forgotten the evening. One of the things I admired most about him was his story about coming to America from communist Cuba. I was fortunate to attend NKU in the early days when the professors knew all the students and became friends with them. He will be missed by...
