Not sure what to say?

As Sir Edward Dyer put it in his elegy on Sir Philip Sidney, "Silence augmenteth grief; writing increaseth rage." I was immeasurably saddened to learn of Adam's untimely demise. I met him doing research at the Folger Shakespeare Library a few years back, and he was not only an exciting scholar but also obviously a real gentleman. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. He will be sorely missed.

When I think of Adam, I think of his smile, the way that he made those he knew feel valued. I think of Adam's energy, the power of his written and spoken words, and I know that the world is a better place--and that I am a better person for having shared a time and a space at the University of South Alabama. Thank you Adam for your living gifts.

I just learned of Adam's death reading the Chronicle of Higher Education. I met him when we were both at the Folger Shakespeare Library and had such respect and liking for him. I wanted to let his family know this.

Sally and I are very saddened to learn of Adam's death. We are friends of Debra's parents and know how proud they were of their son-in-law. We also enjoyed reading his book on 'Shakespeare and Technology', which is a signed copy. Our deepest sympathy to the entire family.

I am shocked and heartbroken to learn of the loss of Adam. I can still see him clearly in my English 11 class at Churchill HS--his smile, his perceptive responses and questions, and his growing love of literature. I was privileged to share that year with such a gifted, warm, witty, and fine young man. My deepest sympathy to his loving family on the profound and tragic loss of a very special young man.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I grew up with Heather and remember her speaking so fondly and warmly of her big brother Adam. My heart goes out to the entire Cohen family. My condolences. Allyson Baker.

We who were fellow readers at the Folger Library will miss Adam. Of course, our sadness is nothing compared to that of his family. Our deepest sympathy to you in these hours of grief.

Dear Leslie and Max,

Lynn and I were so saddened to hear of the loss of Adam. Although I only met him once (at your house when you had memorial service for Leslie's dad), I spoke to him for a while and was impressed with his striking good looks and obviously brilliant mind (I think he had a girlfriend at that time... otherwise I would have liked him to have met my daughter Julie).
Please accept our sincerest sympathy.
