Adam Michael Dillon, of Newport Center, Vermont, passed away at his home on October 4, 2023, at the age of 33. Adam grew up in North Troy, Vermont and attended Troy Elementary School and North Country Union High School.
Adam leaves behind his daughter, Maci Dillon, who he loved very much from the moment she was born, his mother, Darlene Nutting and her husband Larry, his father Christopher Dillon Sr. and his fiancé Lori Ward, his sister Jessica Brown and husband Robert, and his brother Christopher Dillon Jr. (Bub). Adam also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Sylas Columbia (little buddy), Kya Green, Elijiah, and Emerald Dillon. Adam is also survived by several aunts, uncles, their families and his best friend, Ben St. Marie.
Adam was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents Clifford and Madeline Dillon and maternal grandparents Grifton and Burl Sargent.
Adam, also known as Freddy and Fatum, was the baby of the three Dillon children and quickly became his sister’s baby, and his brother’s best friend. Growing up in a small town, the kids had to find things to do. Often if Adam was telling the stories, he was the victim of his sister and brothers’ actions and mischief. One of Adam’s favorite stories to tell was when his sister ran him over (on purpose) with the go cart. When Adam was younger, he loved food and when his father shot a deer, he had no problem with staying with the deer while his father went to get the truck. Throughout Adam’s years, he not only spent most days with his brother, Bub, he often worked alongside him. Because of their time spent together, it was always Adam and Bub, or Bub and Adam, if one was doing something, the other was right there following along. Throughout Adam’s life, he had a strong relationship with his mother, and never hesitated to call her and shared the good, bad, and ugly with her. Adam was a single dad to Maci, and he cherished her. Adam looked forward to his time with Maci and they enjoyed being together, having bonfires and going for walks in the woods. Maci got everything that she wanted from her dad, plus some. In Adam’s eyes, Maci was perfect and the most beautiful girl ever.
Adam had a great sense of humor and was known for his quick comebacks and making people laugh. Adam had a huge heart and would do anything for the people he cared about. This willingness to give and be there for his people was a good thing, but also would get Adam into trouble. If you were a friend, suffering, he would suffer along with you. Adam was loved unconditionally by his family, and even so, love alone cannot stop someone from making the choices they are going to make in life. Adam’s last few years were spent struggling and was painful not only for his family, but for Adam himself. Although the family is grieving for the loss of Adam, the family is hopeful that Adam is now happy, healthy and at peace.
Services will be held privately by the family. Should friends or family desire, contributions in Adam’s memory can be made to Maci Dillon C/O Darlene Nutting, 3071 East Hill, Road North Troy, VT 05859.
