In Green Valley, Arizona across the street from American Legion Post 131, there is a small sign with Adam's name and date of death. I had been driving past this sign for about five years now, since I retired here. Last week I decided to enter his information into the computer and obtained some information regarding this fine man, including photos and details of his death. That week, when I met my usual friends at the Legion for our meeting, I showed this man's handsome picture to all of my...

To the Family of SGT Adam L Knox, As I sit here on Memorial Day 2011, my thoughts are on your fallen hero. Ever since the day I knocked on your door to bring the news of Adam's passing, you have weighed heavy on my mind. You see, I too have children and they are both serving our Nation, as well. One of mine will be in Afghanistan later this Summer and I pray for his safety everyday. Adam will forever be in my heart even though I have never met him. God Bless you and Thank You for your...

Dear Knox Family,
I did not have the privilege of meeting Adam in person. It is through stories of triumph and tragedy that I learn the amazing qualities that this young man possessed. His impact on the man that I love has been profound, to say the least. As hard as it is for K to relive some of those memories, I can sense the pride in his voice as he recounts the hours they spent together in Iraq. The stories I've heard have made me laugh and some have made me cry.
