AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Addie Belle Carter Gunter, 84, wife of the late Harold L. Gunter entered into rest on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Brentwood Terrance Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick funeral Directors on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 1:00 PM with the Dr. Dwayne Carter and Reverend Ellis Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jeff Gunter, Justin Johnson, Shane Brocato, Ken Johnson, Richard Gunter and Blake Brocato. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Carter and Dwayne Carter. She was preceded in death by a grandchild Brian Keith Gunter, Jr.. Survivors include her children, Alan Gunter and his wife Cheryl, Pat Johnson and her husband Wayne and Brian Gunter, Sr., all of Augusta; Brother, Wilton Carter and his wife Sylvia of Baxley, GA; sister, Betty Moore and her husband Rev. Ellis Moore; seven grandchildren, Ken Johnson, Jeff Gunter, Jaime Brocato, Justin Johnson, Gabriel Smith, Seren Gunter and Lindsay Gunter and three great-grandchildren, Lila Belle Andrews, Makenzie Belle Brocato and Aaron Blake Brocato. Mrs. Gunter was born in Baxley, GA one of thirteen children. She was a homemaker and a member of Heights Baptist Church and a former member of Broad Street Baptist Church. The family said she loved her roses and was known for her rose garden. If desired, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2510 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta, GA 30906. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
