Addie Catherine Smith 77, of Kokomo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 9:51am at her residence. She was the daughter of Timothy C. Ligon who preceded her in death and Christina C. Ligon (King) who survives. She retired from Delco after 30 plus years, she also was retired from the Naptown Riders Association. Addie was a life time member of the Fountain of Life Worship Center where she served as one of the mothers. She is survived by her mother; Christina C. Ligon, sons; Howard W. Smith Jr., and Jewel Perkins, wife Beth, three daughters; Nerissa Gibson, Ta Mara Smith, Edie Small, brother; Walter E. Ligon, wife Weng, sister Janice Ligon, two sister-in-laws, Cecil Stringer, Viola Bassett, six grandchildren; Terrance Smith, wife TI, Ta Meka Smith, Travis Smith, Terral Smith, Terence Catlett, and Grant Small, ten great-grandchildren, aunts Elizabeth Jones, Ernestine Tramill, Georgia Ligon, god-children; Greg Withers, Danett Benson, Ed Clark, two god grandchildren, special granddaughter Yardana Horton, special grandson, man-man Hicks, ex-husband Howard W. Smith, wife Seneth, special great-granddaughter; T' Kyha Smith, special friends, Bishop and Pastor Glenn, the Lyles, the Kirbys, the Colberts, the Beards, Purcell, Dorothy Brown, mother Campbell, the Harris's, the Jackson's, along with everyone on Elm Street "E Block". She was preceded in death by her father; Timothy C. Ligon, brother, Jim "Goose" Ligon, and two daughters DaMita K. Smith, and LaVonda Smith, and son-in-law Buddy Gibson. Visitation will be from 5pm – 8pm Monday, July 30, 2012 at Fountain of Life Worship Center, 611 E. Jackson. Services will be at 11am Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Mt. Pisqah Missionary Baptist Church, 1599 E. Sycamore St., with one hour of visiting prior to the service. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
