More on Coach (Addison Gilbert). I will treasure forever my copy of the 1964 Calloway Garden troup that we gave Coach at the end of the summer The plaque said 'Thanks for the Memories' And that was a big thank you that included our wonderful, once only our European tour for CBS Sports Spectacular. We performed in 4 countries and that was truly an unforgettable experience! We later all gathered at Coach Gilbert's house to watch the show.. What a night of joy and comraderie. The circus will...

More on Coach (Add Gilbert) He could encourage us to go way beyond what we thought we could.. A great coach! The plaque on his frame said 'Thanks for the Memories' That was a big thank you that included our European tour for CBS Sports Sports Spectacular... Performig in 4 countries. We all gathered at Coach Gilbert's house in Tallahassee to watch the show together! What a night of joy...

Coach Gilbert was definitely one of the lighthouses along my coastal journey. He could find and develop skills you didn't even know you had.I hope my son, the teacher, turns into the same kind of mentor as Coach Gilbert. We will miss him.

If you didn't know him, you couldn't possibly understand him. And, if you thought you understood him, you didn't know him. To me, it didn't matter. He was and is one of the biggest influences in my life!

Hey Coach, get the tent ready!!!
We'll put together an A-one show when
the rest of us get there...
Instead of announcing 'The Greatest Collegiate Show on Earth' we'll just change to 'The Greatest Show in Heaven'......We will all get there right?????
Loved you 'Old Man'

We called him the "Old Man." After all, he was 32 yrs old compared to our teen years in the FSU Circus!
As adults, many of us can trace our good attributes back to his teachings.
He taught us to thrill to the sounds of a rousing Circus march and cry after singing "Auld Lang Syne" at the end of the season's last performance.
Don't worry, Coach, yours is one Old Acquaintance we will not forget!
