Brown Page Mortuary - Douglas Obituary

Our dear loving Mother, Adela Lara Gonzales passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 90 years old. Our Mother was born and raised in Douglas, Az. She attended Douglas schools and graduated in 1954. Adela worked in the business office at the AZ Department of Corrections (ADCRR) in Douglas. She was very active in many activities with the school. She played the violin and the clarinet. Besides playing those instruments including playing the piano, she also loved to sew as a hobby. She taught us everything that she knew and could do. Our Mom was very involved in many community activities. She was a CCD teacher, a Girl Scout Leader and much more. Not only was she our mother but our parents were foster parents for many years. She would teach our friends how to drive, sing, sew, and camping skills out in the wilderness mountains to name a few. She taught us to play flag football with the neighborhood kids. If we were out too late, she would whistle, and it could be heard more than several blocks over, so we knew to all run home. She was married to our dad, Ramon P. "Monchi" Gonzales for 56 years until his passing in 2010. Mom was involved with our dad with the Little League. She ran the concession stand for many years. This was a big highlight of our lives, and we all enjoyed every moment.
Our Mother is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon P. "Monchi" Gonzales, Brothers, Richard Lara (+Lilia Lara), Jimmy Kline (+Helen Kline), Julian Aguirre, Joe "JoJo" Aguirre, Sister, Rose De Haro, and grandson Fabian Samaniego. She is survived by her brother John (Mary) Aguirre, Sister-in-law, Rose Aguirre and Brother-in-law Carlo De Haro. Children Becky (Genny) Middleton, Raquel (Tony) Rosadillo, Monalisa (Jim) Burns, Renne {Robin} Gonzales, Eddie (Consuelo) Gonzales, OJ Acosta and Corina (Jeff) Monnin. She is also survived with 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday March 23, 2024, at St Lukes Catholic Church with a Rosary being recited at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m.  A Celebration of life will follow after the mass at the Knights of Columbus, Douglas AZ.
Pallbearers: Alexis Rosadillo; Cyndi Carrizoza; Cindel Carrizoza; Crystal Anderson; Adrianna Samaniego and Serenity Acosta Honorary Pallbearers: Secily Rosadillo; Samantha Gonzales; Bianca Raidt and Domenik Encinas-Rosadillo, Eliseo L. Rosadillo and Liyana E. Rosadillo.
Mom, we will miss you immensely and we will forever treasure all the memories, the laughs, your sassiness which will offer each of us solace. Thank you for always loving and guiding us. You will forever be in our hearts. We love you Momma.
