Adele Arceneaux Obituary
August 26, 1920 ~ January 28, 2016
MORGAN CITY - Funeral Services will be held on Monday at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City, LA. for Adele Loland Arceneaux, age 95, who died peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Entombment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Very Reverend Jay L. Baker, V.G. will be Celebrant of the Funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, A.J. "Red" Arceneaux, four children, Lynn Beaudean (Roger), Ronnie Arceneaux (Janet), Kathy Schaub (Elroy), and Jules Arceneaux (Belinda). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also, grieving her loss is her 3 sisters, Lois Loland Sanchez, Peg Loland Dugas, and Edna Loland Gautreaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oleme and Louisiana LeBlanc Loland; one sister, Rene Loland Bergeron, and numerous brothers-in-laws and two sisters-in-laws.
Born in St. James, LA., a native of Brusly McCall and a resident of Morgan City, LA. for most of her life. Adele was a Kindergarten Teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School for 24 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and teacher. She left a legacy of laughter, recipes, love and strength.
Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Scott Beaudean, Ryan Arceneaux, Brian Arceneaux, Shane Beaudean, Jonathan Schaub, and Justin Arceneaux.
The Arceneaux Family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Teche Regional Medical Center, Southern Care Hospice Services, Morgan City Health Care, and her two sitters, Gwen Elliot and Diane Weeks for the wonderful care given to her in her time of need.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Hargrave Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic School, Central Catholic High School, Morgan City and Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School in Lafayette, LA.

Dear Mr. Red, Lynn, Ronnie, Kathy and Jules;
My sincere condolences to each of you and extended family on the passing of Ms. Adele. Sorry I was not present today to share in Ms. Adele's farewell. News out of Morgan City travels to Pascagoula, MS about as fast as the Pony Express. I actually think of you all often and hope all is well for everyone. I always remember Ms. Adele's great big smile and she was a tireless sports booster for us and never seem to miss a school event to cheer the teams on. I JUST THIS MINUTE READ ABOUT YOU GOING "HOME" AND MY HEART IS HEAVY AND MY EYES ARE TEARY, WE HAD SUCH A WONDERFUL TIME AT OUR 20 PLUS YEAR TEACHING AT SACRED HEART, YOU IN THAT PRECIOUS KINDERGARTEN CLASS AND ME IN MY MUSIC. I LOVED THE WAY YOU TAUGHT THE CHILDREN THE HAIL MARY. I REMEMBER GETTING READY TO GO TO YOUR CLASSROOM TO TEACH AND I HEARD YOU SAY, "HAILY MARY, FULL OF GRACE" I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU OR THAT SPECIAL MEMORY. WE HAD SOME GOOD TIMES. I AM SURE GOD WILL GIVE YOU THE JOB OF TEACHING KINDERGARTEN TO THE LITTLE ONES IN HEAVEN. YOU WERE THE BEST.

So very sorry to hear of Mrs. Adele's passing. I taught with her at Sacred Heart Elementary many years ago. I quickly grew to love her, She was a kind and dear soul. My heart is sad for her loss. Thoughts and prayers to Mr. Red, Jules and her entire family.

That's the sweet smile I'll always remember. When I grow up/old, I'd be lucky to have her sweet, funny & happy attitude. Will miss you like you were part of my family. I pray for all of the Arceneaux family to have peace.
