ARTHUR Adele Smith Spokes Arthur passed away on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at the age of 89. She was born in the city of New Orleans on Aug. 18, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Smith and Pearl Roques Smith, her brother Henry Louis Smith, sisters Rosalie Smith Livaudais Funel Cummins and May Smith Schlosser, her husbands Frank J. Spokes and Joseph L. Arthur, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Dale Spokes Schaeffer and her husband Herbert A. Schaeffer III of Mandeville, LA, 3 grandsons, Herbert "Tucker" A. Schaeffer IV (spouse Kristen) of New Orleans , Gerald A. Schaeffer (spouse Kristin) of Baton Rouge, LA and Russell J. Schaeffer of Metairie, LA and 4 great-grandchildren Sophie Adele Schaeffer, Annabel Klees Schaeffer, Ethan Scott Schaeffer and Lillian Grace Schaeffer. She is also survived by her step children, Gwen, J.L., Melanie and Frank Arthur. She was known as Aunt Tee to her many surviving nieces and nephews. She worked for Wembley Tie Company for over 40 years and enjoyed the wonderful people she met during those years along with her many friends from PWP. Her passion was dancing and later in life she taught dancing to her many friends she met along the way. She requested a private spreading of her ashes on Lake Pontchartrain because she had enjoyed so many happy times at the beach.
