Adele Mary Johnson Casanovas

1939 - 2023

Adele Mary Johnson Casanovas, age 83, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born on December 22, 1939 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Elizabeth Thibodaux Johnson and Charles Johnson. A 1955 graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus High School, Adele later moved to Metairie. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Moreover, Adele was a beautiful and loving person, who loved to garden and crochet. Adele is survived by her adoring husband Cleveland Casanovas, to whom she was married for 62 years; children Charles Casanovas, Christopher Casanovas (Donna), and Elizabeth C. Guidroz; grandchildren Kacie Lehman (Jeff), Christopher Casanovas, Jr., and Lauren Guidroz; great-grandchild Easton Lehman. The family would like to thank Father Mike Mitchell of Our Lady of Divine Providence Parish, as well as Passages Hospice's Martha, Brooke, Lynnell, Jennifer, and Chaplain Stephen Gordan for their spiritual support; an additional thanks to Dr. Glenn Johnson for many years of care. A visitation for Adele will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a funeral mass at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider having a mass said on Adele's behalf.
