Adele left to meet the Lord on Saturday night, with her family by her side. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Bill Mitchell, daughters Wendy (Gary), Dallas (Gerry), granddaughter Angela and great-grandchildren Ashlen, Olivia and Michael. Born in Alsask, Sask., Adele is survived by her sister Mary. Predeceased by twin sister, Ardis, sisters, Billy, Dana & brother, Bliss. After many moves, Bill and Adele settled in the Comox Valley where Adele was well known for her work caring for adults with special needs. She went on from Bevan Lodge in Courtenay to start "Our Place" center in Campbell River. Adele had a special, caring, kindness that will be missed by everyone who knew her. We wish to thank the staff at Glacier View Lodge for the their exceptional loving care. A Celebration of Life will be held from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Glacier View Lodge, 2450 Back Road, Courtenay, B.C.
