Adeline Gobin, 93, of Perryton died Monday, March 27, 2017.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church, 321 S Baylor St, in Perryton with the Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. A private graveside service for the family will precede the service in Liberal, KS. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers in Perryton.
Mrs. Gobin was born Oct. 10, 1923 to Tobias and Katy Dirks in their home in Beaver, OK. She was married Sept. 14, 1947 to James Gobin.
After first settling in the Oklahoma Panhandle the couple moved to Gruver in 1957 and then to Perryton in 1963 where they spent the rest of their days. Mrs. Gobin’s family was the utmost importance to her and she spent many days following sporting events, school events and other special occasions of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews and other extended family. She also worked at Perryton Independent School District where she influenced the lives of many students and teachers.
After leaving Perryton ISD, she spent many days working with the Ochiltree General Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies and the First United Methodist Women, which were the backbone of her volunteer activities. Her cooking skills were well known in many of these circles, especially her desserts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Steve, and siblings, Sylvia, Leonard and Darlene.
She is survived by a sister, Leona Leopp; a brother, Tobias “Junior” Dirks; sons Jim Gobin and wife, Susan, of Austin, Bob Gobin of College Station; a daughter, Kathy Reagan, and husband, Russell, of Idalou, daughter-in-law Lyn Dickerson and husband David of Amarillo; granddaughters Heather Tibbits and husband, Cameron, of College Station, Kellye Downing and husband, Mikey, of College Station, Paige Jones and husband, Matt, of Amarillo, Stephanie Cortez and husband, Bryan, of Amarillo, Lysa Hoelscher and husband John of Hutto, and Becca Floyd of Austin; grandsons Shae Reagan and wife Tarryn of Frisco, Sean Reagan of Fort Worth, Seth Reagan of Lubbock and John Floyd of Austin; great-grandchildren Caden, Cooper, Harlie, Macie, Reed, Adeline, Schuyler, Cameron, Jordan and Taylor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the OGH Auxiliary and to the UMC Women in honor of Mrs. Gobin.
