Not sure what to say?

i love you grandpapa :)

Dear Julie and family,
Please accept my condolences. I was a graduate student in Dr. Ferro's microbiology lab at OSU in the early-to-mid 80's - when I believe Molly and Jay were still in elementary school. Al was an awesome professor, transformative mentor and friend. I recall living in his/our lab (it seemed that way...), learning and performing research (with colleagues like Mike Riscoe, Mike White, Paul Jones, Paula Tower, Jeff Hughes, and others) was one of my most rewarding...

Dear Julie,

I just saw this online. I always had a great deal of respect for Al and loved hanging out with him. I am sorry for your loss. He was a great person. I hope you and your family are doing well.

Sincerely,

Kelly Armstrong

Julie my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry we lost contact for so many years. Just know that you and your kids and grandkids are in my thoughts and your God children thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Julie, Molly just shared this with me! Al was an amazing man and I know touched and changed the world in so many ways!! I always loved his warm and inviting smile!! We are sending our thoughts and prayers your way and hope you will find peace in these incredible attributes and memories of Al!! Love to you and your preciuos family! Sending our heart felt sympathies, Always, Susie and Bob Buchanan

Dear Julie,
I was so sorry to read Al's obituary this morning. Mike and I will always remember him with much fondness and gratitude. It was an act of kindness of Al's that introduced us to each other in 1980. I had asked Al if I could be an assistant to one of his graduate students and he was in the process of saying "not right now" when Mike walked by his office door. He suddenly beckoned Mike in and asked him if he wanted an assistant and the rest is history! Besides being...

Dear Julie, Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Al and extend it to Jay and Molly as well. I could not have asked for a better graduate advisor than Al, and I still remember him perusing our desks looking for the latest data, even when we were not around. And his laugh! He did graduate school "right" in my opinion, letting us grow into researchers with independent ideas and owning our projects.
I am sorry that you have been inducted into this club; I personally know...

It was my honor and pleasure to work with Al for a number of years at Artielle ImmunoTherapeutics, and I very much appreciated his insight, thoughtfulness, caring nature, perseverance, loyalty, and humor. He was a joy to know, and my heart goes out to you and your family, Julie. He was an enormous influence and example.

Dear Julie - We haven't seen each other for many years, but I remember you and Al with such great fondness from our years at WSU. I am so sorry to read about Al's passing. I wish you, your kids, grandkids and extended family peace and healing.
